·         The ISRO’S workhorse PSLV-C43 has successfully launched HysIS (Hyperspectral Imaging Satellite and 30 other customer satellites from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre AT Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
·         The HysIS is an earth observation satellite developed by ISRO which will provide hyperspectral imaging for advanced earth observation which will be an added advantage in watching over from space varied sectors like defense, agriculture and mineral exploration.
·         ISRO’s chairman is K.Shivan.

Magnus Carlsen has won the Chess World Championship
·         Norweign grandmaster Magnus Carlsen has won the Chess World Championship by defeating American challenger Fabiano Caruana.
·         It is the third time Carlsen has won the Championship.
·         In 2013 he won the title by defeating Vishwanathan Anand of India.
·         Caruana would have become the second  American to win the title, after Bobby Fischer in 1972.

ADB to provide USD 75 mn to Karnataka
·         Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide USD 75mn loan for water supply in four coastal towns of Karnataka.
·         The ADB is a regional development bank. It is established on 19 December 1966.
·         Its headquarter is in the Ortigas Centre located in the Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines.
·         There are total 67 member countries and the main purpose of the bank is economic development of these countries.
