South Asia Youth Peace Conference
·   The South Asia Youth Peace Conference was organized by Gandhi Smriti & Darshan Samiti, UNESCO MGIEP & STEP ( Standing Together to Enable Peace) at New Delhi on 28 Nov. 2018.
·   The three-day conference was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi’s great-grandson, Mr. Shri Krishna  G Kulkarni.
·    More than 100 youth leaders across the country and South Asia had come to discuss different dimensions of peace.
·   The conference organized was a part of celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

2nd International Ambedkar Conclave
·    The President Ram Nath Kovind has inaugurated the 2nd International Ambedkar Conclave as a part of the commemoration of the Constitution Day.
·    The Conclave has organized by the forum of SC & ST Legislators and Parliamentarians and the Dr. Ambedkar Chamber of Commerce.

According to UNICEF, India has the highest people with HIV in South Asia
·    According to UNICEF’ s report, there were 1,20,000 children and adolescent (0-19 age group) living with HIV in India in 2017 which is the highest among all the countries in South Asia.
·      In Pakistan, the number was 5,800, in Nepal it was 1600, & in Bangladesh, it was less than 1000 which are much lower in comparison with India.
·    According to UNICEF, 80 adolescents will be dying every day because of AIDS, globally, by 2030.

India Launches Passport Seva Project in U.S Consulates
·  India has launched Passport Seva Project in various U.S Consulates to simplify overall passport applications procedure and reduce the turnaround time for applicants from 10 days to 48 hours or less.

·      Names of four Indian origin women are in the Forbes list of Top Female US tech moguls which are-

·         2. Komal Mangtani,  Senior Director of Uber,
·         3. Neha Narkhede, Chief Technology Officer & Co-founder of Confluent,

Govt. launches a new initiative called ‘Bhasha Sangam’
·       Govt. launched a very unique initiative called ‘Bhasha Sangam’ to introduce school students to 22 Indian languages which are listed in Schedule VIII of the Constitution.
·    This is the initiative drawn under the programme ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ brought by the Human & Resource Development Ministry.
·       Union Minister of Human & Resource Development is Mr. Prakash Jawadekar.
