  1. 17th ASEAN-India Economic Minister’s Consultation held virtually

1.1      The 17th ASEAN-India Economic Minister’s Consultation held virtually on 29th August 2020.

1.2       The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to take collective actions in mitigating the economic impact of the pandemic.

   

  1. India, Russia joint winners of the FIDE Chess Olympiad 2020

2.1       India & Russia declared as joint winners of the FIDE Chess Olympiad

 

  1. MP govt. To provide free travel for NEET, JEE candidates

3.1     CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan, has announced to provide free travel arrangements for all students from Madhya Pradesh who will appear for the NEET, JEE.

3.2       The students will have to register themselves by calling on 181, or through the portal by August 31. 

3.3         Chhattisgarh govt.  will also do the same.


  1. India’s first woman cardiologist passes away at 103

4.1       India’s first woman cardiologist Dr. Padmavati Sivaramakrishna Iyer has passed away at the age of 103 due to Covid-19.

4.2       She was also the Padma Vibhushan Awardee.


  1. India withdrew from military exercise involving Russia, China & Pakistan

5.1     India has withdrawn from a multilateral military exercise scheduled to be held in Russia

     5.2     The exercise ‘Kavkaz 2020’ will be held from 15 to 26 September and will involve China & Pakistan alongside Russia itself.

            

  1. India’s first toy manufacturing cluster set up in Karnataka.

6.1        India’s first toy cluster has set up in Koppala, Karnataka.

6.2        According to the Karnataka CM, B.S Yeiyurappa, it will generate 40,000 jobs in 5 years and is expected to attract over Rs. 5000 crores in investments.


  1. September to be observed as Nutrition Month: PM.

7.1      Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said over the Mann ki Baat session that the month of September would be observed as ‘Nutrition Mission’.

7.2        Also,  “ During Nutrition Month, a food and nutrition quiz will be organized on the MyGov portal and there’ll be a meme competition.”

7.3        He further said that “ just like report cards, a nutrition card should also be introduced in schools.
