1. First Rafale Fighter Jet received by India, from France

1. India has received its first rafale fighter aircraft from France on 8 Oct., 2019.
2. It is the first fighter jet among the 36 rafale aircraft purchased from France.
3. Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh attended the handover ceremony at the Dassault Aviation Facility      in Merignac, Southwestern France, along with his french counterpart, Florence Parly.
4. The Defence Minister also performed the traditional 'Shastra Puja' on the auspicious occassion of 
    the Indian festival 'Dussehra'.
Additional Info- 
1. India has purchased 36 rafale fighter jets from France, worth Rs. 59,000 crore in September 2016.
2. The first batch of four fighter jets will be arrived in India by May 2020.
3. All 36 jets are expected to be delivered in India by Sep. 2022.

2. Nobel Prize in Physics, 2019.

1. This year the Nobel Prize in Physics is awarded to three eminent personalities- James Peebles, 
    Michel Mayor & Didier Queloz.
2. James Peebles is awarded the prize for theoritical discoveries in physical cosmology.
3. Michel Mayor & Didier Queloz is awarded the prize for discovering an exoplanet, '51 Pegasi', orbiting a solar- type star.
4. Exoplanet- It is a planet outside the solar sytem.

3. BS-VI fuel to be available from April Next Year.

1. BS-VI ( Bharat Stage- VI) fuel will be available in all the big cities of India from 1 April next year.
2. According to the Union Environment Minister, Prakash Javadekar, the fuel will help to reduce the vehicular pollution by 80 to 90%.

4. Vishnu Nandan, the only Indian will join the largest Arctic Expedition.

1. Vishnu Nandan, 32, from Kerela will be the only Indian to join the 300 researchers in the largest ever Arctic Expedition.
2. He will aboard the Multidisciplinary Drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC) Expedition.
3. It will help the researchers to better understand the impact of climate change & aid in improved weather projections.
