Union Health Ministry: Malaria death cases dropped by 3 times
·        According to the Union Health Minister J.P Nadda, deaths by malaria has been dropped from 194 in 2017 to 54 in 2018.
·        He also mentioned the World Bank Report 2018, according to which a significant drop has made in the malaria cases in India by 3 million fewer cases in 2017 as compared to 2016 which is a decrease of 24%.

Prasar Bharti decides to shut down AIR national channel
·        Prasar Bharti, India’s Public Service Broadcaster has decided to shut down the All India Radio’s national channel and also its regional training academies in five cities namely, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow,  Shillong & Thiruvananthapuram.
·        The move has taken to cut costs and to rationalize services.

HAL gets the nod to manufacture LCA Tejas
·          Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has got the nod to manufacture a weaponized version of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Mk1 for the Indian Airforce.
·         The nod is given by the Centre for Military Airworthiness & Certification ( CEMILAC ).
·         CEMILAC is a DRDO lab which is authorized to certify military aircraft & airborne systems.

Jai Anusandhan: Big push in the field of science & research
·        P.M Narendra Modi has given the phrase of “Jai Anusandhan”  to promote activities in the field of science & research.
·        The phrase is in addition to “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan”.
·        “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” was given by the former Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri,  & “Jai Vigyan”  was added by the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee after the Pokhran Nuclear Test.

Pakistan has declared Panj Tirath as the heritage site
·        The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Directorate of  Archaeology & Museum, Pakistan has issued notice under the KP Antiquities Act 2016 to declare the land in the Panj Tirath Park as a national heritage site.
·        The reason behind the name Panj Tirath is that it has five pools of water present there and a temple and a lawn with date palm trees.

Images of Ultima Thule, the farthest & oldest cosmic body ever, released by NASA
·         NASA has released images of the Ultima Thule which was discovered in 2014 via telescope and is the farthest and potentially oldest cosmic body ever observed by the NASA.
·         The images were taken by the NASA’s New Horizon Spacecraft which flew past away from the Ultima Thule.
·         The shape of it seems like a giant snowman.

Chinese lunar rover leaves “footprint” on the dark side of the moon
·         Chinese lunar rover has left first-ever “footprint” on the dark side of the moon which was unexplored before.
·         The rover is comprised in a spacecraft whose name is Chang’e-4.

China developed its own ‘Mother of all bombs’
·        According to a report, China has developed a massive bomb which is very much like the U.S built ‘Mother of all bombs’.
·        It is the country’s largest non-nuclear bomb.
