International Mountain Day

The Prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award Received by Indian Railway Employee
·    An Indian Railway Employee, Shyam Sundar Besra who is Chief Inspector of Ticket has been conferred the Sahitya Akademi Award for his novel “Marom” in Santhali language.
·     The novel highlights the situation arose after the two main industrial development of the Santhal area after Independence i.e. Masanjore Dam at Dumka & Railway locomotive workshop at Chittaranjan.

Long-Range Missile Agni V Successfully Test Fired
·   Agni V is a long-range surface-to-surface Nuclear Capable Ballistic missile is successfully launched from a canister on a road-mobile launcher at the Dr. Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha.

Air Chief Marshal is on a visit to Japan
·    Air Chief Marshal Birendra Singh Dhanoa is on a visit to Japan from 10th December to 14th December 2018.
·   The aim is to strengthen the existing defense cooperation between the air forces of the two countries.

NDMA is conducting training programme at Indira Gandhi International Airport
·      National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is conducting a 5-day training programme at the Indira Gandhi International Airport at New Delhi from 10 Dec. to 14 Dec 2018.
·  The aim of the training programme is enhancing the preparedness of Airport Emergency Handlers(AEHs) to respond to CBRN ( Chemical, Biological, Radiological & Nuclear material) emergencies at the airport.
·        The programme is organized in collaboration with the Airport Authority of India (AAI), Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences (INMAS) & National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)

RBI Governor Urjit Patel Resigns
·    RBI governor Urjit Patel has given resignation from his position in the RBI, effective immediately, due to personal reasons.

·         Govt. has raised contribution in National Pension Scheme to 14% from existing 10 % in NPS.

·         From now on the withdrawal of pension will be exempted from income tax.
