1. Sustainable Development Index 2021

  • The index measures the country's overall progress towards achieving the Sustainable development goals.
  • India's rank is 120th in the Sustainable Development Index 2021 which is also known as Sustainable Development Report 2021.
  • India got a 60.07 scores out of 100.
  • Last year India's rank was 117.
  • This year Finland topped the index, followed by Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Belgium.
Sustainable Developmental Goals-
  • United Nations General Assembly on September 2015 adopted 17 Sustainable Developmental Goals as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
  • These 17 goals are -

  2. Zero Hunger
  3. Good Health & Wellbeing
  4. Quality Education
  5. Gender Equality
  6. Clean Water & Sanitation
  7. Affordable & Clean Energy
  8. Decent Work & Economic Growth

2. International IP Index 2022
  • India ranked 43 out of 55 countries in the International Intellectual Property Index 2022.
  • India has improved its overall score from 38.4% to 38.6%.
  • It is the 10th edition of the index.
3. The Wealth Report 2022
  • The Wealth Report 2022 is released by Knight Frank.
  • India ranks 3rd in terms of the largest number of billionaire population globally in 2021.
  • The number of ultra-high-net-worth-individuals (UHNWIs) in India grew by 11% annually to 145 billionaires in 2021, the highest percentage increase in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
  • UHNWIs individuals who have a net worth of US$ 30 mn or more (Rs. 226 crores).
  • Bengaluru recorded the highest growth in the number of UHNWIs in 2021 from 17.1% to 352 billionaires.
  • It was followed by  Delhi and Mumbai in 2021.
4. "Freedom in the World 2022 - The Global Expansion of Authoritarian Rule"
  • The report titled "Freedom in the World 2022 - The Global Expansion of Authoritarian Rule" has released  by US based NGO, Freedom House.
  • According to the report, India has received 66 marks out of 100 marks in 2022 and thereby remains in the category of 'Partly Free Country' in terms of democracy and society in the second consecutive row.
  • In 2021, India got 67 marks out of 100 and was in the same category.
  • The worst scoring countries are, South Sudan, Syria, Tibet, Turkmenistan, Eritrea, & North Korea.
  • Top Scoring countries are - New Zealand, Canada, Uruguay, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Ireland, Denmark.
  • Finland, Sweden & Norway achieved perfect 100 score in the category.
  • 3 countries uplifted to the category of free countries in 2022 which makes overall 85 countries in the Free Countries category.
