Loksabha has passed Triple Talaq bill
·        On 27 December, Lok Sabha has passed the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2018 also known as Triple talaq bill.
·        The move has taken to make instant triple talaq or talaq-e-bidat a penal offense in which the husband will get the punishment of up to 3 years in jail.

Colin O'Brady became the first person to finish solo trek across Antarctica
·        American adventurer Colin O'Brady has become the first person to finish solo trek across Antarctica without any aid or support.
·        He completed 1600 km. journey in 54 days.

India held talks with Bhutan
·        On 27 December, Bhutan's newly elected Prime Minister Lotay Tshering visited New Delhi to hold developmental discussions.
·        During the visit Tshering can also discuss Bhutan's 12th five-year plan.
·        It was the first visit of Tshering since he has elected as the Prime Minister of Bhutan.

Home Ministry has banned KLF
·        The Union Home Ministry has banned organization of Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
·         The ban is imposed on the basis that the organization has the objective of establishing an independent State by the secession of Punjab through violent means.

Andhra Pradesh & Telangana will have separate High Courts
·        Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will have separate High Courts from Jan. 1 2019.
·        The principal seat of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh will be Amravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad will be the principal seat of the High Court of the Telangana.
·        The strength of judges in Andhra Pradesh Court will be 16 whereas of Telangana H.C it will be 10.

Yellow Vest Movement is launched in Taiwan
·        Taiwan has launched Yellow Vest Movement by being inspired by the success of the movement in France.
·        The protest is against taxes levied by the govt. of Taiwan.
 
Saudi Crown Prince has ordered for a major reshuffle
·        Saudi Arabia's Crown Prine Mohammed-bin-Salman has ordered reshuffle
·        In the reshuffle, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Information is replaced from Ibrahim-al-Assaf to Adel-al-Jubair.
·        The move has come after the international outrage over Saudi Arabia regarding the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

UAE has reopened its embassy in Syria
·        UAE has reopened its embassy in Syria after nearly 8 years.
·        The embassy is opened to curb interest of regional interference in Arab Syrian affairs.

Govt. will bring Atal Bhashantar Yojana
·        Govt. of India will bring Atal Bhashantar Yojana to train language experts for the pool of specialized interpreters of interpretation to and from Hindi language to various foreign languages.
