.        Self For Society’ App, to be launch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
This app has developed for Professionals who want to do volunteer work in their free time but do not have any guidance. The app has developed by ‘MyGov.’ and will launch by P.M. Narendra Modi on Oct. 24. This “app will have incentives, gamification and intra- and intercompany competitions, and social networking”. It will first target IT companies, with more joining in when it takes off.

Indian Air Force will hold competition to build Swarm Drones Technology
 For the first time in its kind, the Indian Air Force has announced the Mehr Baba Prize, under which competition will be held among individuals, start-ups, & other ‘for profit’ organizations to build a swarm of 50 drones which can be employed in Humanitarian Aid & Disaster Relief (HADR) operations. The competition is held in the wake of increasing frequency of natural disasters in the country.

        India, China will sign internal security cooperation agreement on 22nd Oct. 2018
To mark a new beginning in bilateral relations, India & China will sign internal security cooperation agreement on 22nd Oct. 2018. On 22nd Oct. 2018, China’s Minister of Public Security, Zhao Kezhi, will visit India and will hold meetings with Home Minister Rajnath Singh,
The agreement will likely to cover areas of intelligence sharing, exchange programme, sharing of best practices, cooperation in disaster mitigation etc.

       Korean War Memorial will build in New Delhi
South Korea & India have agreed on building Korean War memorial in New Delhi to commemorate India’s role in Korean war which ended in 1953. There were 21 countries all around the world which participated in the Korean War from 1950-1953. India played neutral role in the war and it had only sent medical teams and custodian force to deal with Prisoners of War.

       G. Allen, co-founder of Microsoft passes away
Paul G. Allen, co-founder of Microsoft passed away at 65. He co-founded Microsoft with his childhood friend Bill Gates. He was a Philanthropist and invested in conservation, art & culture, space travel and professional sports.

       Sandeep Bakshi has appointed as MD, CEO of ICICI Bank
RBI has approved the appointment of Sandeep Bakshi as Managing Director & CEO of the ICICI Bank for three years. Bakshi was holding the position of Chief Operating Officer of the Bank before appointed as MD, CEO. The move has come after the resignation of former ICICI Bank CEO Chanda Kochhar who is facing inquiry over the charges of nepotism and conflict of interests.

        IIT BOMBAY Topped in QS University Ranking of Indian Indian Institutions
 In the QS ranking of Indian Institutions, IIT –Bombay has topped in the country, the Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru, stands second.The QS is a think tank which is famous for world ranking of institutions.

India’s International Silk Fair Inaugurated
 Union Ministry of Textiles has inaugurated the 6th India International Silk Fair in New Delhi on 16th Oct. 2018. 108 exhibitors from all over the country, which will include 10 from North East and 9 from J & K, who will be participating in this 3-days fair. This fair is expecting to generate around USD 20 million for the SMEs engaged in producing silk and silk blended garments.
 It is to note that, India stands second in silk production after China and also a leading exporter of silk.

No time limit to file complaint under POCSO Act, 2012.
 The Ministry of Women & Child Development has lifted off the time limitation to file complaint against sexual abuse. According to the Minister of Women & Child Development “ Any victim, at any age, can complain the sexual abuse faced by him or her as a child”.
This step has taken in the view that children, being in a very tender age unable to understand the nature of the offence and usually the perpetrator is either a family member or a relative or a closely known person which stops them to make its complaint.
